Routines

Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Routines helps families run their day: morning and evening routines with steps children can tick off, and a weekly schedule, shared between everyone in the household and on Apple Watch. To keep those phones in sync, what you enter is stored on our servers. This policy explains what that is, who can see it and how to remove it. In short: we only keep what the app needs, we never sell it, and there are no ads or trackers.

Who we are

Routines is made by Tim Numan Holding B.V., Dr. Frederik van Eedenweg 9, 1401 GA Bussum, the Netherlands (KvK 97001376). We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at routines@timnuman.com.

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive and store an account identifier from that provider, your name, and your email address if the provider has verified it. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email address. We never see your Apple or Google password. The sign-in tokens the app uses are stored in your device’s keychain.

Your household

Everything you enter in the app belongs to your household and is stored on our servers, so that every phone and watch in the household shows the same thing within a second. That includes:

The app does not ask for surnames, addresses or photos of your children, and we ask you not to enter them. Ticks are deleted automatically after one week.

Sharing with your household

Only members of a household can see its content. You invite someone with a code that works once and expires after a week. Members can see each other’s name, email address and profile. The person who started the household can remove other members, who then immediately lose access.

Type or paste something

You can paste an email or message from school or a club, or type a request, and the app turns it into suggestions. To do that, we send the text you entered, together with your children’s first names, birthdays and details such as school group, to Claude, an AI model by Anthropic. The age and details are needed to put things with the right child and make suggestions that fit their age. Nothing else is sent: no surnames, addresses, email addresses or account details. Nothing is added to the app until you confirm it. This only happens when you use this feature. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf and does not use it to train its models.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of service providers, each only for the task listed:

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell or share your data for advertising, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software.

On your device

A few preferences stay on your phone only, such as the emoji you used recently and your preferred skin tone.

How long we keep it

Ticks are kept for one week and one-off events disappear after their date. Household content is kept for as long as the household exists. Account data is kept until you delete your account. Sign-in sessions expire after 90 days of not using the app.

Why we process it

We process this data because it is needed to provide the app you asked for (performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Information about your children is entered by you, as their parent or caregiver, and is used only to show and organise your family’s routines.

Children

Routines is meant to be set up and managed by parents and caregivers. Children can tick off their steps on a shared phone or watch, but they do not have accounts and do not sign in.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we process it. You can change or remove most information directly in the app. To delete your account and household, or for any other request, email routines@timnuman.com; we respond within 30 days. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

If we change how Routines handles your data, we update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will let you know in the app.
